We were at Target on February 5th buying some gifts from the boys for Madeleine's 14th birthday the next day. Jeremy was waiting with the baby and Mads out in the car because we had stopped on our way home from dinner. We spent a lot of time picking things out, choosing the right paper, bow, card etc etc. You get the idea.
Here is Campbell with his broken tooth :(
We called the dentist from the parking lot, it was 6ish pm on a Saturday evening after a week of ice. Our first day we could safely leave the house in the car. The dentist had been closed ALL WEEK. She answered her cell phone (the emergency number offered on the answering machine). She told us to come to the office on Sunday morning at 10am. Madeleine's birthday and Super Bowl Sunday. I was SO relieved. We didn't know what she would be able to do in her office but we had hope.
Campbell was so sad for his broken tooth.
I was sad for him.
And me, have I mentioned how much I loved his big teeth?
Dr Lisi was waiting for us when we arrived. She had her teenage son with her, who has also broken a tooth before. You wouldn't know it. She said confidently that she could fix it.
She gased up Campbell and got to work. It took about 45 mins and in the end he had a new tooth. She took a lot of time to match the colours from the break to the bottom of his new tooth. She even created the little ridges to match the other one. It looked great. We were so happy. He had a broken tooth for less than 24 hours. We won't know for about 6 months if the tooth's root died or not. We have hope, it was shown on the x-ray to still be open, which can mean that cells can regenerate and repair any damage.
Our fingers are crossed.
